Zach Romano is a dedicated corporate commercial lawyer at Fasken, contributing his expertise to the Global Mining, Indigenous Law, and Global Energy and Climate practice groups. With a strong focus on project development, Zach assists clients in navigating complex issues such as environmental approvals, consultation processes, acquisitions, divestitures of resource assets, and Indigenous equity participation transactions.

Zach is highly skilled in negotiating and drafting agreements involving Indigenous nations, including impact benefit agreements, joint ventures, and other crucial project-related contracts. His in-depth understanding of Indigenous law, combined with his Métis heritage—being a descendant of the historic Métis community at Lac St. Anne—enables him to deliver exceptional legal support on Indigenous matters.

Zach currently serves as Co-Chair of the British Columbia Branch of the Canadian Bar Association’s Truth and Reconciliation Committee and is a director of the Métis Community Services Society of BC.
