J. Bradley White takes managing partner mantle at Osler Ottawa
In a significant move within Canada’s legal landscape, J. Bradley White has been appointed as the new Managing Partner of Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP’s Ottawa office. His tenure began on January 1, 2025, marking a new chapter for the firm’s presence in the nation’s capital.
White steps into the role following Donna White, who served as the previous Managing Partner before stepping down. Despite sharing a last name, the two are not related. J. Bradley White’s appointment underscores his leadership within the firm and his esteemed standing in the legal community.
In addition to his new managerial responsibilities, White will continue to lead his intellectual property practice. His expertise spans patent law, with a particular focus on complex cases, including pharmaceutical proceedings under the PM(NOC) Regulations. His dual role reflects his ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on legal work.
White’s appointment is a testament to his reputation as a leading intellectual property lawyer. He currently chairs Osler’s National Intellectual Property Department, a position that highlights his deep understanding of the field. His work has been recognized through numerous accolades, including being named the 2022 Patent Practitioner of the Year (Canada) by Managing Intellectual Property.
His leadership will be instrumental in shaping the Ottawa office’s strategic initiatives. Collaborating closely with Bryce Dyer, Osler’s Chief Operating Officer, White will oversee operations and drive the firm’s growth in Ottawa. His vision and expertise are expected to further solidify Osler’s position as a leader in intellectual property law and beyond.
